With the help of modern technologies, orthopedic technology companies and medical supply stores are able to produce patient-specific orthoses, bandages, and compression stockings in a way that would hardly be possible with traditional processes. These modern procedures result in new opportunities for business models in the field of orthopedic technology.

After completing his master’s degree, he conducted research in the field of biomechanical and clinical gait analysis. After successfully completing his doctoral thesis in cooperation with the University Hospital in Leipzig, he accepted an offer as head of development at Bauerfeind AG. The global medical technology company develops and produces high-quality products in the field of orthopedic technology. Following this activity, Justin Lange went to the Hamm Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences, where he is responsible for the professorship for biomechanics and ergonomics.

Uwe Kleinkes is Professor of Technology Marketing and Director of Studies for Technical Management and Marketing at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences. His fields of interest are international business relations of high-tech companies, B2B-Marketing of high-tech components and systems, and digitalization of business and marketing with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the Ruhr-University Bochum in 1998. He studied chemistry at the University of Sussex (Brighton, UK) and the Ruhr University Bochum. In 2000 he joined the Institute of Microtechnology in Mainz. Since then, he took over a position at IVAM, where for ten years he was managing director of the IVAM Microtechnology Network with 300 companies and institutes worldwide.

Professor Olaf Goebel is teaching Energy Engineering at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Science. Prior to joining the University, he was Head of Engineering in Masdar Power, the energy project developer of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. He was in charge of all technological and techno-economic aspects of Masdar Power’s renewable energy projects (total budget responsibility 4 billion US$). Prior to joining Masdar, Prof. Goebel was Head of the Renewable Energies Department, at Lahmeyer International, a leading international engineering consultancy. He began his career at ESA (European Space Agency) and then joined DLR (the German Aerospace Center) where he managed several CSP-related projects. Prof. Goebel holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Munich University, Germany. He also holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Aachen (RWTH), Germany.

The main topic – Renewable energy and its integration for a sustainable future in on- and off-grid systems – was and still is the core of her work. She started her scientific career at University of Kassel and after receiving her PhD, joined ISET e.V (today Fraunhofer IEE), with focus on electrochemical Storage. In 2010, she joined SMA Solar Technology as Senior Expert Energy Storage and her work contributed to strategy and product development of battery systems. In March 2021, she became a Professor at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences lecturing on electrical engineering and working on topics concerning energy storage and E-mobility.

Born in 1986 in Wichita, Kansas and graduated in 2010 with a BA in Anthropology from Arizona State University. Moved to Germany in 2011 after having done a semester abroad in Heidelberg. Then moved to the Ruhr area in 2011 and started teaching ESL at several different companies throughout Essen and Gelsenkirchen, ranging from paper, automotive, and lingerie companies. Another core job responsibility was to teach the unemployed so they may have better chances in the job market. I accepted the position at the Hochschule Hamm-Lippstadt in 2020 and have been teaching BMT and ETR business and technical English. As a hobby, I have been performing standup comedy since I was 18 and have performed all throughout the United States and Germany.
