Tuition Fees & Scholarships

The total fee for the Summer School at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences is 1’800€, which covers all lectures, company visits, accommodation, socio-cultural activities, and transportation within the program.

We are happy to inform you that we can provide a limited number of scholarships for students who want to participate in the Summer School at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences. Available are full scholarships covering the total program fee, which is 1’800€, as well as partial scholarships that cover 50% of the fee (900€). Selected partner universities of the Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences are offered a fixed number of full scholarships via the existing exchange program. The partner universities may select students for the participation in the Summer School.  You can check our website to find out whether your home university is listed among the partner universities.

However, anyone is free to apply for either a full or a partial scholarship. To apply, fill out the registration form and tick the respective option. Please note that there’s only a limited number of scholarships available, however in the last summer schools more than half of participants received a scholarship. Otherwise, we encourage you to get information from your home institution about financial support for participation in summer school.

Application Process

The Summer School is welcoming everyone who is enrolled at a university (bachelor, master, PhD) at the time of the program (July 12th – 25th, 2026) and is interested in the fields of business and engineering. For a successful application, students need to submit proof of knowledge of the English language at B2 level. The deadline for admission is April 15th, 2026. Applicants will be notified of their eligibility within May 2026.

Admission steps:

  1. Register from March 1st via the Application Form. For the application you need to have the following prepared:
    1. Certificate of enrollment
    2. Academic transcript of records
    3. Curriculum Vitae / Résumé
    4. Copy of personal ID or passport
    5. proof of English proficiency at B2 level
    6. in case you want to apply for a scholarship: a motivation letter highlighting your dedication
  2. Send required documents to summerschool@hshl.de till the application deadline on the 15th of April 2026
  3. We will revise the application and you will receive an answer in the end of April / beginning of May.
  4. After this, you pay the tuition fee, apply for your visa and book your tickets to come to Germany.

Language Requirements

In order to be successfully admitted into the Summer School at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences, you are required to provide evidence of English competency at the B2 level as all courses will be held in English.

If you are not studying in English we ask you to submit evidence of adequate knowledge of the English language at the B2 level in one of the following ways:

  • confirmation issued by your home university of your English level B2
  • TOEFL: minimum score of 72 on the TOEFL iBT or equivalent in one of the other test formats
  • IELTS: minimum band score 5.5
  • Cambridge: at least 160 points on the Cambridge English Scale, regardless of the test (such as B2 First, C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency)

If you participate via the exchange agreements of our selected partner universities and study in English, it is sufficient that your university informally confirms via e-mail that your study courses are held in English.

Students who are not from partner universities but who are also studying in English are required to submit a confirmation issued by their home university proving the English language of their course of study.
